The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.00pm, based in Manukau working across South Auckland. Elements of the role may require travel.

This role will involve working within the Health and Sustaining Tenancies at Risk service. The wrap-around community housing-based service will have a strong focus on transition, recovery and wellness that empowers tāngata whai ora and whānau to build the capacity to live well.  

The position will entail collaborating with and providing assistance to individuals with significant and intricate requirements, often grappling with intergenerational obstacles, mental health concerns, addiction, and trauma, in their pursuit of securing and maintaining housing within the community.

You | Mōu

If you have a background in the mental health and social domains, especially with some exposure to housing and residential recovery services (although it's not a strict requirement), we are excited to receive your input. Ideally, you must:

  • hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognized equivalent. Alternatively, you will commence study towards this within six months of starting your employment with LinkPeople. This needs to be completed within two years of commencement. LinkPeople offers significant support for Housing Case Workers to complete this study.
  • have strong communication and relationship building skills, you’ll quickly build credibility while showcasing your sound problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • have an ability to work at pace and flourish under pressure will be complemented by excellent attention to detail and proficiency in record keeping.
  • have knowledge of and demonstrate utmost commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi principles and working with Māori.
  • hold a full New Zealand driving license.
